What you’ll do
- Own data flows end to end — from raw documents and client source systems through to structured records, embeddings, and searchable stores.
- Build and run the ETL/ELT underneath them: ingestion from internal and external sources, metadata extraction, cleaning, normalisation, and versioning.
- Automate document processing at volume — chunking, embedding generation, and indexing — so retrieval stays fresh, relevant, and traceable to its source.
- Design data architectures that scale with the client’s volumes, and make data quality and pipeline reliability measurable rather than assumed.
What you’ll bring
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript, solid SQL, and real experience running data pipelines in production.
- Hands-on work with relational, vector, and graph stores, and a feel for when each is the right choice.
- Practical understanding of embeddings, semantic search, and retrieval — enough to tune quality, not just wire it up.
- Care for the unglamorous parts: schema changes, idempotent reruns, backfills, cost, and failure modes.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena, Bedrock Knowledge Bases) or their equivalents.
- Orchestration tooling (Airflow, Dagster, Step Functions) at production scale.
- A background in a regulated domain (fintech, healthcare), where lineage and auditability matter.
